Fru Ndi Promises to Rule for Three Years

Ni John Fru Ndi the SDF Party chairman and presidential candidate for this year's October 9 presidential election on launching his campaign in Foumban this September 25Th, stated that he will and his party if voted into office, will only run the country for 3 years, time to revise the constitution, put in place positive reforms and straighten all the issues facing the country at present and deliver the goals of the party.


Speaking to a crowd of about 5,000 people who turned out to listen to him during the official launching of his presidential campaign,he stated “The SDF is going in for a transitional period of three years, during which it would revise the constitution and bring about positive reforms and ensure a stable country with equal opportunities. After that, it will hand over the reformed State to the Cameroonian people …,”. In his campaign speech, he urged the crowd to give him their vote come October 9. In the same vain, After the official launching of his campaign in Foumban, Fru Ndi also visited Sultan Ibrahim Mbombo Njoya at his palace.

During that same day of September 25Th, while Fru Ndi was launching his campaign in Foumban, other presidential candidates such as Garga Haman Adji and the resigned SDF council member for Douala 5 an one of the only female candidates at this year's Cameroon presidential elections Kah Walla were in Bamenda the capital of the North West Region and the strong hold of the SDF for decades, for the official launching of their candidature, which was characterized by more than a hundred benskin riders, blasting horns and whistles and the distributing of campaign fliers and manifestos.

The presidential campaigns that officially started on the 24 of September with a very sluggish kick off, is beginning to get into tone. With various presidential candidates making their official appearances and trying to grab a share of a Cameroonian population that has long lost hope in any fair and free elections.

And this year's presidential election is also taking a similar turn like previous years, with many irregularities already being noticed at registration centers after the official release of the provisional voters registrars. Irregularities range from double entry with Limbe 1 for example having over 200 double entries as witnessed by some observers, to wrong allocation of voting stations.
